April 23, Panzano, Chianti

Hi all,
We finally found our B&B in Panzano after a pretty good 5 hour drive from Venice. The trip was pretty uneventful. Along the way our GPS unit informed us that it was almost out of battery and I could not find the power cable to connect to the power plug in the car. A bit of inventive trouble shooting allowed us to power from the lap top that still had some battery life and that allowed us to get to our destination. The B&B is fantastic .We have a great view of the Tuscan landscape from our private balcony. We met Monia who gave us a bottle of their estate Chianti and we enjoyed it while taking in breathtaking vistas from our balcony. I think that we are really going to enjoy the remainder of our vacation here. Monia recommended a restaurant in the village and it was fantastic. If this continues both of us are going to have to stop eating for the next year. I have to tell you what happened at the restaurant. It was not very busy and Gale and I were chatting with another couple and the owner. A young couple came in the door of the back patio. Gale looked at them and than mentioned to me Dr Carter from ER just came through the door". I did not really pay any attention until he happened to go the the washroom and then Gale asked me what I thought. I did not really know but I thought that since there were only 4 of us in the room and that they had chosen to sit in a different room that they might be some famous people. To close of this fascinating bit of trivia, we had a fantastic meal and as we were leaving we stopped by their table and I asked if we were not intruding would he be . I did not have to have my question answered when he said yes. It was Noah Whyle and his wife Tracey. They were really nice people on vacation after finishing the conclusion of the ER series. Super nice to talk to and they asked us where we were from. They have 2 children who were with the nanny. That is something that we never figured on happening. No pictures for today but I am sure that there will be many to choose from tomorrow.
Bye for now
Eric & Gale
